G. A. McKevett's Savannah Reid Series

Savannah Reid is an ex-police officer turned private investigator, and she is also a transplant from the backwoods of Georgia to southern California. While -- according to her -- she used to be a size seven, she is now a voluptuous size 14. Weight and eating delicious foods factor into the storyline, but McKevett also crafts delightful mysteries. These books are not too dark, but just right for a mystery with a coziness factor. Savannah spends her days with her old police partner Dirk, her naive young apprentice Tammy, and her gay gentleman friends John and Ryan. Together they form the Moonlight Magnolia Detective Agency which operates in the fictional town of San Carmelita.
