Adriana Trigiani's Big Stone Gap Series
Adriana Trigiani writes one of my favorite series of all time: the Big Stone Gap books. Starring protagonist Ave Maria Mulligan, Trigiani does small town Big Stone Gap, Virginia, right in this series that spans several decades. Ave Maria has grown up there, and it seems may always be there -- alone, taking care of her father. But there are more adventures out there for Ave Maria, and Trigiani takes her for a ride from Virginia to Italy in this heartwarming set of novels.
